I started NorthFirn after watching the same thing happen too many times: a business discovers its backups don't work at the worst possible moment — in the middle of a real emergency.
My job is to run that test first, on an ordinary Tuesday, and write down exactly what came back, what didn't, and how long it took. No vendor scripts, no theater — just the real result, in plain language, before you ever need it.
Ten-plus years in IT and security taught me to assume the bad day is coming. Everything here is built around finding out now whether the recovery actually holds.
NorthFirn helps a business choose backup tools, set them up, test the restores, write the recovery steps in plain language, and keep the records current.
NorthFirn works with more than one provider and picks products on the business, its systems, budget, and test results. Any commercial relationship is disclosed near the recommendation.
The work stays inside one lane: backups, storage, recovery planning, ransomware-resistant design, restore testing, documentation, and ongoing checks.
